Performed Nagoya Damannaka Matsuri Dance at

Nisei Week Parade!

We had some problems but we did it. It was fun.
First, our Happi Coats were stopped at US custom and could not make it for parade. So we had to use temporary one.
Second, our Music Track (assigned by Nisei Week organization) had problem with its system. Volume was very low! We could not hear the music!!!
Even though with these problems, I think we did our very best.

A 7-year-old girl was killed and an unrelated 8-year-old girl and

her father were in a hospital following a shooting outside

a 7-Eleven store in El Monte.
Two men in their 20s, who were seen in front of the store about

10 or 15 minutes before the shooting, fled in a black compact vehicle.

Police were asking the public for assistance in finding the two suspects.

Tanabata Day in Japan
The star festival (Tanabata) takes place on July 7. On this day two stars (Altair and Vega) that are usually separated from each other by the Milky Way, come together.
In the night of July 7, people put little bamboo trees in their garden. They also hang papers with wishes written on it on that tree in the hope they become true.

Kata - There were two groups (A & B) and top two of each group can go to 2nd match. I was 3rd place at group A so that is it.
Kumite - first match I won, Second one I lost so that is it.

Conclusion - I need more practice!!

Our family cat "Nyagory" passed away.

He was 15 cat years old. (About 90 years old as human)
Born in the {Arcadia, CA} move to {Chicago, IL} then {Austin and Dallas, TX} finally back to {El Monte, CA} with us.
He was fat and lazy but smart cat
He had happy life. We wish he is sleeping peacefully now.

Image Training - There is story lets name "leaf cutting story".

There is tree and its leaf is falling. Sward master use that leaf for his practice. He tries to cut that leaf as much as he can before that leaf touch to land. Instead of sward, he uses his imaginary sward in his mind. Same time his breathing and stomach is ready for actual move. So he is going like (hu hu hu huhu hu!).
We use same method for our karate.

Small -> Give push feeling to opponent so opponent want to sen. "Push push release" and releasing time opponent will move and just before start to move I am attacking already.

Medium -> If small one is not working then give half attack and opponent will move then I do "go no sen".

Big -> At last give strong attack so opponent will block and as soon as opponent block I will attack another one.
